At Todd Marcus Birds Exotic, we understand that bringing home a new avian companion is a significant commitment. Our policies regarding refunds and returns have been developed with both the welfare of our birds and the satisfaction of our customers in mind.
Live Bird Purchase Policies
Health Guarantee
- All Conures through Macaws come with a 1-month (30-day), 100% health guarantee from the date of purchase
- This guarantee covers pre-existing health conditions not apparent at the time of purchase
- Documentation from a licensed avian veterinarian is required to validate health-related claims
- Smaller birds (Finches, Canaries, Lovebirds, Cockatiels, and Parrotlets) come with a 14-day health guarantee
Return Process for Live Birds
Due to the sensitive nature of birds and the bonding process that begins immediately, our return policy for live birds is as follows:
- Within 7 days of purchase:
- Full store credit may be issued if the bird is returned in the same condition as when purchased
- A 15% restocking fee will apply
- The original receipt must be presented
- Within the health guarantee period (8-30 days):
- If a health issue covered by our guarantee is documented by a licensed avian veterinarian, we will:
- Replace the bird with one of equal value, or
- Issue store credit for the full purchase amount
- No cash refunds are available after the 7-day period
- If a health issue covered by our guarantee is documented by a licensed avian veterinarian, we will:
- After the health guarantee period:
- No returns or exchanges are accepted
- We offer ongoing support and advice to help resolve any issues with your bird
Important Considerations
- Transportation back to our facility must be handled with the same care as the initial transport
- Birds showing signs of neglect, improper diet, or unsafe housing conditions will void the health guarantee
- We reserve the right to refuse any return if we believe it is not in the best interest of the bird
Merchandise and Supplies
Return Policy for Non-Bird Items
- Unopened Products:
- May be returned within 30 days of purchase with receipt
- Full refund in original payment method
- Opened Products:
- May be returned within 14 days if found defective
- Store credit or exchange only
- Must have original packaging and receipt
- Non-Returnable Items:
- Food, treats, and perishable items
- Special orders
- Clearance or final sale items
- Items showing wear or damage not caused by manufacturing defects
Refund Processing
- Refunds to the original payment method typically process within 3-5 business days
- Store credit is issued immediately upon approved return
Layaway and Financing
- 25% deposits for our 30-Day Layaway Plan are non-refundable
- Financing arranged through Mariner Financing is subject to their terms and conditions
Exchanges
We are happy to exchange merchandise of equal value within 30 days of purchase when accompanied by the original receipt.
